Megan is currently in her 12th year as a Wyoming educator and teaches Computer Science and Business at Sheridan High School. Prior to teaching High School, she spent seven years teaching elementary.  Megan is a proud University of Wyoming College of Education alumni and a Poke through and through.  In addition to her bachelor's degree, Megan pursued her passion for STEM education and obtained her master's degree from Concordia University.  In addition to being the WCSTA President, Megan is also the WACTE Past President and chairs the Promotions Committee. Outside of work, Megan stays busy chasing her two kids alongside her husband, Kasey.  Megan and her family love fly fishing, camping, and anything in the mountains.

Krista Sweckard is in her 13th year at Johnson County School District #1 where she teaches Computer Science at Buffalo High School. Until recently, she divided her time between Buffalo High School and Meadowlark Elementary, where she played a key role in establishing and growing the computer science program. A proud graduate of the University of Wyoming with a master’s degree from Lesley University, Krista is committed to fostering opportunities in STEM. She serves as the President-Elect of the Wyoming Computer Science Teachers Association (WCSTA) and champions diversity in tech through initiatives like the Elevate BHS (a Chapter of Girls Who Code). Krista launched Buffalo High School’s competitive esports program, empowering students to explore the intersection of gaming, technology, and teamwork through organized competition. Outside of school, Krista enjoys spending time with her husband, Mark, and their three grown children.

Katie is in her 12th year of teaching and currently works with 5th graders at Coyote Ridge Elementary in Cheyenne. Over the years, she has taught a range of subjects and grade levels, including 2nd and 6th grades, Academic Interventions, and Computer Science for K-4 students. She finds great joy in watching children learn new things, develop problem-solving skills, and grow as learners. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family and dog, as well as indulging in hobbies like crafting, baking, cooking, and reading. These activities provide a creative outlet and balance to her busy teaching life.

James Cunningham is an award-winning educator and a passionate advocate for computer science education. He teaches at Wind River and holds a Master’s degree in Special Education, with over a decade of experience teaching computer science. James is dedicated to preparing students for 21st-century careers, blending hands-on learning with real-world applications. His efforts have earned him recognition as the 2023 Amazon Teacher of the Year and Fremont County School District #6 Teacher of the Year. Since 2018, James has also been a Code.org Computer Science Discoveries and Fundamentals facilitator, helping other teachers bring computer science into their classrooms.

Beyond teaching, James is a committed coach, mentoring students in football, wrestling, track, and robotics. He’s especially proud of his work with middle school girls' wrestling, advocating for inclusive athletic opportunities. Always eager to grow, James is diving into cybersecurity to create new opportunities for underrepresented students in his rural community.

Outside of work, James enjoys time with his wife, two married daughters, and his two grandchildren—a grandson and a granddaughter. He’s an outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking and fishing in Wyoming’s beautiful landscapes. James believes in education as a gateway to opportunity and is driven to inspire his students to dream big and reach their potential.

Abby Hurley is the Vice President of WCSTA. She is in her seventh year serving as the Computer Science Youth Outreach Coordinator in Sheridan, Wyoming as well as an educational consultant. Abby previously taught upper elementary school for 10 years. What began as a passion for instructional technology has blossomed into a love of computer science.

In her free time, Abby enjoys spending quality time with her family and traveling the world.
